My AVM was on the right side and after my operation i have been suffering massive pain cramps down only the left side of my body, i would wake up in the morning and it will be completly sore and out of random it will start hurting, i am off my medication now and since then this has been happening.
im in year elven at school and have my tests at the moment, it is very hard to concentrate, Before the operation i studied and did very well, now i feel i can not do it and can not concentrate as well as i could before, i am right handed and now i can not even hold the pen the same way i did, my hand cramps up and it is very difficult to write, mum took me to an Occupation Therapist and she gave me things to help fix the problem.
i was just wondering if anyone else feels this and what it may be. please help.

ever since i had brain surgery i too have cramping hands. not just one but both. if i write, use paint, sew clean my hands cramp. so i stop what i’m doing and shake them out and it goes away for a bit and then returns. no one seems to know whats causing it and my surgery was 15 years ago.
Bethany- I am not a doctor but there are a host of reasons why you can’t concentrate: pain, anxiety just to name a few. Also, the writing issue is something I had to deal with. The therapy helped and I just needed to take my time over many months to get it back to legible.
Hi Bethany, Dr D is my neuro and yep he is the best! i’m 10 months post op and also have problems concentrating. In my case dr d told me it’s cognitive fatigue, if i rest I can process info like normal and if i don’t it just gets worse so that i have to rest. I try to manage it as best i can, but it does get frustrating.
