Hello everyone! I want to address those who have experienced hair loss after AVM treatment. Please tell me what helped you restore your hair. My hair is growing gray in the area where the radiation was given. But the rest of my hair feels thinner and even a little wavy, although my hair is naturally very straight and glassy. 1 year after surgery and radiotherapy I took Solgar Vitamin B complex because of little hair loss . But I didn’t notice any changes.I’ll be glad to hear your advice and experience.
Hi @Nana
I hope some others will see your question and share their experience. The main conversation I know of in here about hair loss and recovery is that of @corrine. I am sure that her hair regrew with a different texture.
Here is her hair story. I hope it might help a little. I’m not sure that she still uses this site, however. Post embolisation hair loss - my hair recovery (pics and dates)
Very best wishes,

Thank you so much ![]()
Hi Nanna,
I went through the same thing. About three months after my CyberKnife treatment, I started losing a lot of hair too. One day I decided to cut it as short as possible, and I was even able to donate it ![]()
It really helped my hair recover, grow stronger, and shed less over time.
Since then, I’ve been very gentle with it. I use mild products like baby shampoo, avoid too many chemicals, and try not to dye it too often. These days there are even some coloring hair masks that add a nice tone without being harsh or toxic.
I also use a water filter in my shower, and, well… I’ve gotten used to seeing more grey hair, I realized my stress levels had a lot to do with that!
Hang in there🤎 It does get better.

Hi - I also experienced hair loss. My hair definitely grew in all white and kind of course. My eyelashes on that side also turned all white. It took about a year for my hair to grow back. I ended up cutting my hair short, so that it wasn’t to noticeable. I didn’t try any vitamins or anything - I just let nature take its course, and it has grown in.
Wow, I think your eyelashes look beautiful, this is your highlight. My hair has also grown back in 2 years, but I’m still worried about the gray hairs in the areas where were radiation.that’s why I’m looking for a way to get rid of gray hair, but without dyeing, since my hair is already very damaged. Anyway thank you so much ![]()
My daughter lost her hair in the area of the radiation. The rest of her hair thinned and changed in texture.
It was emotionally very trying for her as she was just barely 15 .
After some time she decided to grow out her hair and donate it to an organization that provides wigs for children. it turned. The whole experience into something more meaningful.
It’s now nearly 3 years later and her hair hasn’t returned to what it was.
oh, yes that this is very difficult to go through, to some extent an identity crisis, but it’s so great that you were able to shift your focus and choose to direct your attention to such a good cause
May you and your daughter be healthy and happy.
you are amazing!
