Micro avm or Dva? Dva exists?

I was just contacted by a very good neurosurgeon in my country, who told me that my malformation would not be a micro avm but a dva.
After everything I read and how I documented myself, I can’t believe that it is only a dva.
In fact, is there only developmental venous anomaly?
I think the people present here are the best able to clarify this for me.
Thank you🙏🏻

Such things as a DVA – a developmental venous anomaly – exist and we have fewer members here with a DVA but there must be a handful.

My assumption is that a DVA is less dangerous than an AVM and is usually not treated as I don’t suppose it presents a bleed risk on its own. If you have a combination of an AVM and a DVA, the treatment will focus on what to do about the AVM.

Hey Amareea, that is great news. A DVA is a vein draining into other veins. AVMs are dangerous because arteries flow into veins without first going through capillaries, and the blood pressure is too high, which is why bleeds occur. The blood pressure in veins is very low, so when a vein drains into other veins, it’s not a problem, and DVAs are not dangerous. I am very happy for you that you received this news!

Hi, thank you so much but it seems like it s not an normal dva ….i have just mixed answears….

And i m tired….i don t want to die but i can t live like this anymore….
