Spinal AVM in my 14 year old daughter

Hello! We found out this past week that my daughter has a spinal AVM. It is looking like it is type 3. We are currently being seen at MUSC in Charleston, SC. I'm finding though that the doctor doesn't have experience in children with spinal AVM and very limited with adults. My daughter is mostly asymptomatic at the moment-it was found when she went for a check up with her neurologist (she has autism). He heard a "whooshing" noise in her back and sent her to a cardiologist. On the CT angiogram, it showed the avm is comes off of her aorta and goes back to her spine, wraps around, and goes into the spinal canal and dents into the spinal cord. Anyone deal with this before? Anyone have advice on what to do next? TIA I will try to attach some images so you can see what we are dealing with

Mama, the best advice I can give is to consult Robert Spetzler at Barrow in AZ. Not many docs have the capability to handle spinal avms in children. He is the best of the best.

Hello! I am in Charleston sc and had a Spinal Avm also. I went to MUSC, they could not do anything, so, I found Dr. Spetzler and his team at Barrow Neurology in Phoenix. He operated in 2010 and successfully removed it. They are the best of the best, ask MUSC to send it to him for consult.
