Hello-
I am sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find a situation exactly like mine... I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and was wondering what was recommended to you ladies with kids as the safest way to deliver. I was always told by my neurologist that c-section would be safest but he is now retired and my new neurologist said it would be fine to have regular delivery. I had 2 large AVM's about 8 years ago that were obliterated by multiple embolizations and then Gamma Knife. My last MRI showed no AVM but large areas of scar tissue and radiation necrosis but that was 5 years ago and I had a high risk ob tell me that he has seen AVM's grow back after Gamma Knife?? I have terrible pressure migraines before pregnancy that have now returned after my OB put me on Progesterone Supplements for pre-term labor and it hit me that my old neurologist said no synthetic hormones (like Birth control pills). So my concerns are
1) how safe is regular delivery even after the AVM has been "cured"?
2) has anyone heard of AVM returning after Gamma Knife?
3) Is progesterone safe to be on after having an AVM?
Thank you all so much!!
