stella,
john is in my prayers…siezures after surgery is not uncommon…due to scar tissue…i suffer them quiet regulary…i would recomend seeing a doctor john may need to be on anti siezure meds to aviod this happenining again…let me know how you go…thinking of you guys…glad to hear he was not hurt or it didnt last to long

I had my first surgery in January of 07 and it isn’t uncommon for me to have 3 seizures like you describe in a single week alone. They are very scary! I am praying for John! It is so common to have seizures after surgery, but always ask the doctor. I’ve never been to the hospital after having a seizure, but he does need to talk with his neurologist have a couple tests run and get on some meds if he isn’t already. And I know it really sucks…but no more DRIVING!!! for his safety and others. I’m almost 30 weeks pregnant and can’t drive myself anywhere and it drives me crazy. but I know I am protecting myself and my baby and those others that are on the road. Tell him we are all praying for him and praying that there are no more seizures.

I have not had any after surgery, but I have been on Keppra ever since. My surgeon and neurologist disagree over the meds, the surgeon thinks I can start coming down from 4 pills a day and the ologist believes NO. Not sure if the ologist is in it for the money at this time or if he really believes I should stay “fully” medicated. My seizures (3) were all pre-surgery. Give John my best! I hope things keep getting better.

I wish you the best of luck, I never had any seizures with my AVM (I did have a stroke though) and I was also loaded up on Keppra (omg I hated that med, I was sick all the time on it). I can only imagine given my own experience, how terrible it must be. I hope the seizures pass and never come back
